Coronavirus Ireland: Dublin COVID hotspots revealed as one northside area has 3 times more cases than national average

The rate of COVID-19 infection in one north Dublin area remains worryingly high at 798 cases per 100,000 people.

Ballymun-Finglas retains the spot for Dublin area with the highest incidence rate, although it has dropped slightly from the 819 rate it was at last week.

That's still over three times more than the national average at 240.4 cases per 100,000 people.

The lowest rate in the capital is in Stillorgan where it currently sits at 95.1 which is a significant drop from last week when it was 173.7.

Another area that has seen a huge improvement is Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart which was the highest in all of Ireland only weeks ago. It's now at 529.6, down from 606.1 last week and 756.2 the week before that.

The average case numbers are steadily growing in Tallaght South, which is currently at 555.5. Last week, this number was 518.8 and this was another large jump from 468.1 the week before.

Clondalkin (412.7) and Kimmage-Rathmines (354.5) are the other areas with the biggest jumps, with most of Dublin seeing a decrease in the average cases.
