Coronavirus Ireland: Delight at Cork nursing home as gardai deliver PPE - and bunch of Easter eggs

There were cheerful scenes at a Cork nursing home amid the coronavirus crisis as gardai helped deliver PPE - and a bunch of Easter eggs.

Smiles were plastered on the faces of gardai, carers and residents at Cramers Court Nursing Home in Belgooly, Kinsale on Monday as the delivery was taking place.

Pharma company Thermo Fisher Scientific, which is located in Currabinny, Carrigaline, sent the personal protective equipment to Cramers.

And cheery gardai were on hand to deliver the supplies - along with the chocolate goodies ahead of Easter Sunday.

Activities coordinator at Cramers, Teresa O'Donovan said: “We are delighted with this incredibly kind gesture.

"Thermo Fisher Scientific rallying behind Cramers Court by providing essential PPE and Easter Eggs was a tremendous show of community spirit and we thank them for it.

"Having this special delivery escorted by the Community Gardaí meant there was great excitement across the home, and we felt it was thoroughly deserving of a guard of honour by staff."
