It comes after the new second person under the age of 25 has died from the infection in Ireland, new data shows.

Figures from the Health Surveillance Protection Centre on Sunday revealed that a patient aged between 15 and 24 has passed away from Covid-19.

This is the second case in this age bracket, following the death of a 23-year-old which was announced on April 15.

However, no details about these cases have been released so it is unknown whether they had underlying conditions or not.

The health chiefs have also not revealed the gender or location of the two youngest deaths linked to the virus in Ireland.
