Shops, pubs and restaurants all over the country have had to close but it's McDonald's imminent closure that seems to have put people into a frenzy.
The popular fast-food chain announced on Sunday that Monday would be their final day in service before they close for weeks due to the coronavirus.
And all over the country, McDonald's lovers flocked to drive-thrus to get their final fix off the menu.
One restaurant in Cork city saw queues of cars hours before 7pm as they slowly made their way to the window to make their order.
While McDonald's in Citywest had a huge queue ten minutes before closing time with every likelihood some people were left disappointed.
Down in Waterford City the traffic was being impacted by fast-food craving folk - one person tweeted: "Passed by Mcdonald's in Waterford City earlier this evening and the queues for the drivethrough were crazy. Traffic backed up up and down the road."
In Galway, the restaurant in the retail park by IMC cinemas was similarly thronged with cars.
Brian Nolan tweeted: "The power of ‘branding’! #McDonalds are closing all their stores in Ireland and UK later tonight, so naturally, there was a queue at the drive-thru!
"I guess if I was a kid, not knowing if the world might end tomorrow, for my last meal, yep, I’d ask for a last ‘Big MAC & fries’."
McDonald's are one of a number of fast-food outlets that have opted to close their doors due to the outbreak.
Supermacs and Subway have decided to the same this week for the safety of customers and staff.
