Coronavirus Ireland: Couple forced to cancel wedding for second time pictured visiting mum on her 87th birthday

The coronavirus outbreak has forced an unlucky Dublin couple to cancel their wedding for a second time after the groom broke his ankle just before they were first supposed to wed.

Jean Cunningham and Paul Keaney were due to finally tie the knot today but were contacted on Friday to tell them the wedding had to be cancelled due to the global pandemic.

The couple's dream honeymoon to Italy also had to be cancelled.

They had planned to marry previously but Paul broke his ankle and the big day had to be postponed.

Bride to be Jean Cunningham who was due to be married today, Wednesday 6th May, in Dublin Register Office, and was cancelled, instead paid a visit to her Mum Maureen Cunningham in Ballybrack, who’d been cocooning, on her 87th birthday, accompanied by her fiancé Paul Keaney. (Paul Sherwood)

Instead, the couple paid a visit to Jean's cocooning mum Maureen Cunningham in Ballybrack on her 87th birthday.

Maureen was also being pictured for the ‘Lockdown Shots’ charity initiative which has so far raised over €5,500.00 for three charities, SVP, Alone and Aware.
