Coronavirus Ireland county by county breakdown: Latest cases show areas with biggest jumps

Dublin continues to lead the way in coronavirus cases with 56% of all cases in the capital.

The latest analysis of the 2,216 cases up to Friday midnight shows that Dublin now has 1,223 confirmed cases.

This is followed by Cork with 208 confirmed patients - standing at just 9%.

The areas around Dublin are now also starting to see considerable jumps in there numbers.

Wicklow has 65 cases, Kildare with 61, Westmeath up to 67, Meath, 46, and Louth, 34.

"Today, we are informed of a further 10 deaths. Our condolences are with the family and friends of all patients who have died as a result of COVID-19.

“While we continue to build our capacity for intensive care, our strategy remains to prevent people from needing intensive care in the first place.

“We know the virus will not survive if we prevent it from passing among ourselves. The enhanced restrictions announced on Friday aim to slow down and restrict the spread of the virus.”
