Dr Tony Holohan is back at his desk this morning after undergoing tests in hospital on Wednesday.

The Chief Medical Officer went to St James' Hospital on Tuesday night after becoming unwell at the press briefing a short time earlier.

After undergoing tests, unrelated to Covid-19, the CMO was discharged and was back at his office on Thursday morning.

Elizabeth Canavan, Assistant Secretary at the Department of the Taoiseach, confirmed this morning at a press conference: "The CMO is back at his desk."

Dr Holohan is expected to be back at the briefing this evening where he will give an updates on the latest deaths and cases in Ireland.

At the same government briefing this morning, Michael Ring slammed people spreading misinformation on Facebook.
