Ireland has seen another drop in coronavirus cases after 226 new infections were announced on Tuesday.
But sadly, six more people have lost their lives after battling the deadly virus.
The figures were announced by the National Public Health Emergency Team this evening.
They come as the country waits with bated breath as to what decision will be made with Level Five restrictions set to expire on December 1.
It is likely that Level Three restrictions will implemented with some changes to the plan including tight restrictions concerning wet pubs.
However it is understood that restaurants and bars that serve food will be allowed to open with safety measures in place.
Retail outlets can welcome back customers ahead of the festive season, while golf courses, gyms and leisure centres are also expected to return.
Meanwhile a lifting of the travel ban is likely to be lifted meaning people will be able to leave their county should they want to visit family over the Christmas period.
The Cabinet is met today to discuss the ongoing debate, which follows on from a meeting of Government party leaders on Monday.
The National Public Health Emergency Team is supposed to meet on Thursday before making a recommendation to Government, but it is believed this meeting will happen earlier.
Taoiseach Micheal Martin is expected to make an announcement on Thursday however that is yet to be confirmed.
