Coronavirus Ireland: An Post to deliver mails and parcels later than usual due to post office changes

An Post has said mails and parcels will arrive later than usual for some customers due to new coronavirus measures.

The postal company said its staff will start at staggered times in a bid to practice social distancing.

And the move at post offices across Ireland is expected to see a delay in delivery times.

A spokesman said: "To ensure flexible working and effective social distancing for staff, An Post is introducing staggered starting times for postal delivery staff based at local postal delivery offices across the country.

"This will result in later mails and parcels deliveries for some customers starting today, Monday 23rd March.

"An Post regrets any inconvenience that this change may cause customers."

He added: "Social distancing measures are also in place across An Post’s mails and parcels sorting centres, post offices and headquarters operations."
