Coronavirus Ireland: 12 more deaths announced in North as all-island death toll hits 146

A further 12 people have died from coronavirus in Northern Ireland in the last 24 hours, it was announced this afternoon.

With that being the biggest daily rise of deaths in the region - the figure now stands at 48 since the outbreak began.

Some 103 new cases were announced bringing the total in the North to 904.

The all-island death toll now stands at 146 after 13 more people were announced to have died in the Republic of Ireland on Thursday - bringing the total figure down south to 98.

There are now 4,753 cases of coronavirus in all of Ireland with 3,849 of those in the Republic.

So far, 7525 people have been tested for Coronavirus in Northern Ireland.

The National Public Health Emergency Team are set to meet later today in the Republic to discuss their next move in the battle against Covid-19.

Continuing to slow the spread, PPE for healthcare workers and the testing backlog will all be discussed.
