Coronavirus in Scotland: Two schools in Scotland confirm new positive COVID-19 cases

Another two schools in Scotland have confirmed new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of schools affected by the virus to four.

The latest Scots school cases are from pupils in North Lanarkshire as three pupils from St Ambrose High School and one from St Andrew's High have tested positive.

Two of the pupils who tested positive at St Ambrose did not attend the school, with the third in the school for 'around 20 minutes' before being sent home.

A fifth case, who is thought to be linked to the youngsters but not a school pupil, has also tested positive.

Two days ago, a Scots Primary school was also forced to shut down after revealing that a member of staff had tested positive for the virus.

Peterhead Central School in Aberdeen confirmed they are closed to both staff and pupils to allow several employees to self-isolate.

The news comes as Bannerman High School in Glasgow confirmed a 'coronavirus cluster' of eight pupils who have tested positive for the virus.

Luckily none of the pupils from the school in Baillieston had attended the school yet before testing positive.
