The First Minister also announced details of Scotland’s move to Phase Two of the route map out of lockdown.

Scotland has been in phase one for the last three weeks.

Phase two would allow for the opening up more non-essential businesses with a potential return of beer gardens and outdoor retail.

Today it was also reported that a generation of people in their 50s and 60s could retire in poor health and without enough money to live on.

Research for the Centre for Ageing Better suggests that a fifth of people in those age groups have seen their physical health worsen during lockdown, and more than a third say their mental health has deteriorated.

Earlier this week, senior SNP figure Andrew Wilson predicted Scotland would have the worst performing economy in the developed world.
