Coronavirus in Scotland: Seven new cases confirmed as death toll remains at 2490

Seven new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Scotland.

There have been no new deaths from the virus in the last 24 hours meaning the death toll of those who have tested positive remains at 2490.

The latest figures were announced by the Scottish Government today.

It was also confirmed that 323 were in hospital with the illness as of last night - three of whom were in intensive care.

An additional three people were in intensive care with suspected COVID-19.

It comes as Scotland enters it’s first weekend of the transition to Phase Three of lockdown easing.

Pubs, restaurants and hairdressers have all been given the green light to reopen next week.

Figures show a total of 297,302 people in Scotland have been tested through NHS Scotland labs and UK Government Labs to date.

18,340 of these tests gave positive results of the virus while 278,962 were confirmed negative.
