The news comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed in her daily briefing this afternoon that the Scottish Government now has the power to make regulations to enforce social distancing measures.

This after the Coronavirus bill passed by UK Parliament gained Royal Assent.

The First Minister expects the powers to be in force “as early as today”.

Ms Sturgeon also confirmed that 1,500,000 face masks have been sourced from the NHS stockpile and are “fit for use”.
