Coronavirus in Scotland: New cases found among NHS lab staff and Low Moss prison as contact tracing begins

New cases of coronavirus have been confirmed within an NHS lab and a prison in the Greater Glasgow area.

A small number of staff within the Diagnostic Directorate laboratory at the health board are currently self-isolating after a positive case was found.

The Public Health Protection Unit has reiterated to all NHS staff the importance of social distancing in the work place.

A case has also been confirmed at HMP Low Moss with the affected individuals currently self-isolating.

There is not believed to be any additional risk to staff or prisoners who have not already been contacted.

There have been no further schools in the Greater Glasgow area identified today as having a new coronavirus case.
