Coronavirus in Scotland: Glasgow school remains open as 6 teachers and numerous pupils self-isolate

Six teachers are self-isolating after a coronavirus outbreak at a school in Glasgow south side.

A council spokesperson confirmed to Glasgow Live 'a number of pupils across the school community' are also self-isolating at Sandwood Primary in Hillington.

Parents have been informed of the developments at the school, and Sandwood Primary is currently still open.

A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council: “The school has informed parents about the need for some pupils to self-isolate as a precaution on the advice of public health experts.

"The school will will keep families updated with relevant information and reassurance of the robust health and safety procedures being adopted.”

Ms Sturgeon also confirmed a further 697 positive COVID-19 cases were recorded in the previous 24 hours.

There were no new deaths reported, meaning the country's death toll remains at 2,530.
