Coronavirus in Scotland - Glasgow cases increase by 72 to 1166 as Scottish death toll rises to 366

The number of people diagnosed with coronavirus in Glasgow has risen from 1094 to 1166 - an increase of 72 from the figure reported yesterday.

Of these, 62 people are in intensive care while 555 are in hospital with confirmed or suspected COVID-19.

Earlier today, the Scottish Government confirmed that 366 have passed away due to coronavirus across Scotland - 70 more from yesterday's figure.

It comes as the recording of deaths linked to COVID-19 has changed in order to give greater accuracy.

It will now include a daily update figure which will report on deaths registered by the National Register for Scotland (NRS) where individuals were tested and confirmed to have COVID-19.

The other will be published weekly by NRS and will include a suspected case of coronavirus in the death certificate.

This weekly figure published today is 354 as of April 5.
