A nursery in Fife has been forced to close its doors after a young child tested positive for coronavirus.
NHS Fife confirmed that the child attends the nursery at Newburgh Primary School in Cupar reports the Courier.
The child is isolating at home with family, and parents of other children attending the nursery and school have been informed.
An NHS spokesperson said that they "want to reassure people that the risk of contracting coronavirus remains low."
In a statement Lynn Burnett, nurse consultant in Health Protection told the paper: “We appreciate that members of the public may be concerned about any new community cases, however, we want to reassure people that the risk of contracting coronavirus remains low.
“NHS Fife has well-established procedures in place to trace those in close contact with the case and our public health contact tracing team is currently calling those who came into prolonged contact with the confirmed case to offer support and advice.”
