Coronavirus in Scotland: Everything you can do from today as key lockdown changes come into effect

Scotland may still be in phase three of their exit out of the coronavirus crisis, however, a number of key changes have been permitted from today onwards.

According to the Scottish Government "evidence" has shown that it is now "safe to proceed with some further re-opening of our economy and society."

This means that a number of updates are allowed to come into effect from today that could change both Scots private and social lives.

Some of the changes will also ensure that certain workers who may have been left on furlough or without income will be able to return to work for the first time today.

Here are the changes to lockdown that come into effect from August 24:

Everything you can do from today:

- Take driving lessons

- Attend small outdoor and take part in live events

- Attend face-to-face advice services such as Citizens Advice

- Bingo halls, amusement arcades, casinos, indoor bowling and snooker halls are all allowed re-open today

- Outdoor funfairs allowed to resume
