Coronavirus in Scotland: 758 new cases, including spike of 176 in Lothians

New data from the Scottish Government has shown there were 758 new cases of coronavirus reported in the last 24 hours.

176 of the cases were in the NHS Lothian region.

The new positive cases represented 12.1 per cent of all those who were newly tested.

No new deaths were announced, meaning the total under that measure stands at 2,530 since the start of the health crisis in March.

210 people are in hospital across the country, up 19 on Saturday's figure. 22 people are critically ill in intensive care, down one from 23 yesterday .

It continues the trend in recent weeks showing the number of hospital and ICU admission rising again after they fell to near zero.

It comes after the UK reporter over 10,000 new cases on Saturday, the highest ever daily increase the country had ever recorded.
