Coronavirus in Scotland: 66 new cases confirmed as no new deaths reported

A further 66 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Scotland in the last 24 hours.

Nicola Sturgeon announced the figures today at the daily coronavirus briefing, where it was also reported that there have been no new deaths reported.

The new cases represent one per cent of people who were tested on Sunday.

As of Sunday afternoon 248 patients were being treated for the virus in hospital, with only one person currently in intensive care.

Today the First Minister said they are still dealing with the impacts of the Tayside cluster, and confirmed that 14 of the cases were in that region.

The area has been reported to be seeing growing clusters that began with an outbreak at the 2 Sisters factory in Coupar Angus.

The factory outbreak has been described as "significant" by the First Minister, with 110 positive cases now linked to the plant.

Since then, cases have been identified out-with the factory, as a Dundee primary school saw 22 cases confirmed, 17 of which were teachers.

The Kingspark school is now closed, with both staff and pupils self isolating.

On Sunday, Edinburgh saw its highest daily jump since May, with 11 new cases recorded.

The NHS Grampian region saw 5 new cases reported, as the lockdown rules there were eased in a staged approach by Nicola Sturgeon.
