37 more people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in Scotland, bringing the country's death toll under this measurement to 3,323.

The Scottish Government's daily statistics also confirm that 1,248 new cases were registered since yesterday, making up 9.7% of all tests, bringing the total number of positive cases since the outbreak began to 83,259.

Of these, 439 were in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, 282 in Lanarkshire, 153 in Lothian and 79 in Ayrshire and Arran.

95 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19, with 1,249 people in hospital.

It comes as new figures show that more than 68,000 deaths involving Covid-19 have now occurred in the UK since the pandemic began, up from 65,000 a week ago.

The total is based on the latest reports on death registrations (including National Records of Scotland data), plus data on the Government’s coronavirus dashboard.
