Coronavirus in Scotland: 25 more deaths recorded in past 24 hours as new cases rise by 1,327

25 more people have died in Scotland in the past 24 hours after testing positive for coronavirus, the latest figures released by the Scottish Government have revealed.

1,327 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported since yesterday across the country, with 454 cases reported in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area and 347 in Lanarkshire in the past 24 hours.

82 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19, 17 of which were in hospitals in the Greater Glasgow area and 19 in Lanarkshire, and 1,100 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19, 479 in the Greater Glasgow area and 250 in Lanarkshire.

To date Glasgow has now recorded 19,769 positive coronavirus cases of a Scottish total of 59,201 - with cases highly likely to surpass 20,000 since the pandemic began in the next 24 hours. 

It comes as Nicola Sturgeon is to present her revised five-level coronavirus restrictions in Parliament this afternoon. 

The First Minister said that the framework published on Friday will be 'clarified' following discussions with partners including local councils and public health advice over the weekend.
