Coronavirus in Scotland - 14 new cases in Glasgow as Scottish total rises to 266

The number of positive tests for coronavirus in Glasgow has risen by 14.

A total of 71 positive tests have been confirmed in Greater Glasgow & Clyde, up from 57 yesterday.

The updated figures, released by the Scottish Government minutes ago, confirm that 266 have tested positive for the virus in Scotland - up from 227 yesterday.

It comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed to Holyrood this afternoon that six people in Scotland have died after testing positive for the virus.

The news comes a day after Ms Sturgeon announced in a press conference that schools and nurseries in Scotland would close tomorrow, potentially until the summer.

Museums, Glasgow Club gyms and libraries have already closed their doors in the city after Glasgow Life made the decision to suspend all services in line with Government advice.
