Coronavirus in Scotland: 11 more deaths recorded as new cases rise by 1,433

11 more people have died after testing positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The figure brings Scotland's death toll under this measurement to 2,699.

1,433 new cases were also confirmed in Scotland overnight, making up 19.1% of newly tested individuals and bringing the total number of positive tests to 55,449.

524 of these occurred in the Greater Glasgow and Clyde health board area, while 321 were in Lanarkshire.

The Scottish Government figures also confirm that 84 people in intensive care last night - eight more than yesterday - with 985 in hospital - an increase of 11 on yesterday's figure.

It comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon yesterday revealed Scotland's new five-tier lockdown plan:

Level zero - the "closest to normal" without treatments or a vaccine. The position in August. Meeting indoors with 8 people from 3 households. most businesses open.

Level one - indoor household meetings reduced to 6 people from 2 households. The position of September.

Level two - limitations on hospitality and no gatherings on homes.

Level three - Much of hospitality being closed completely. Restaurants opening partially. Applied for short periods of time.

Level four - Highest level, not used unless necessary. When transmission rates threatening to become high with pressure on the NHS and risking overwhlemed. Closer to a full lockdown, with non-essential shops closing. 6 people from up to 2 households can meet outdoors. No limit on outdoor exercise. Manufacturing and construction businesses open.
