Coronavirus in Edinburgh: Nicola Sturgeon changes rules to how much you can exercise in Scotland

Nicola Sturgeon has announced that Scotland will lift the once a day exercise rule from today onwards.

The First Minister said that the "one immediate change" would be the only restriction to officially be lifted as the transmission rate in Scotland remains too high for "any significant changes"

Previously Scots were allowed out for daily exercise once a day, but now the First Minister has confirmed that from tomorrow you can leave the house for as much daily exercise as you feel is needed.

The First Minister hopes that by lifting the restriction it will help the "health and wellbeing" of Scots stuck in Lockdown.

It is important to note that these new rules do not apply to people with symptoms of the virus.

Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that she will not be making any further changes to lockdown this early on she fears if she did "People will die unnecessarily"

It was also confirmed that any further changes announced by Prime Minister Boris Johson tonight, will not apply to Scotland.

Ms. Sturgeon said it is important to not have a "mixed message" at this point in time.

Her basic message to Scotland remains to "please stay at home"
