Coronavirus in Bristol: Latest area-by-area breakdown of case numbers

Bristol and its closest neighbours have gone 24 hours without recording any new coronavirus -related deaths.

The official daily breakdown of figures published today (Saturday, March 13) are encouraging, showing that the toll remained unchanged in all four local authorities in the wider Bristol area.

It is an improvement on the four deaths recorded yesterday, although figures are often lower over weekends due to a lag in data processing.

There have been an additional 51 coronavirus cases across the area, down from 71 yesterday.

Bristol city recorded the largest rise at 17, with Bath and North East Somerset recording the fewest at six.

The breakdown of new cases

The daily rise in cases for each part of the region is recorded below, with the total figure during the pandemic in brackets:

  • Bath and North East Somerset: +6 (8,083)

  • Bristol: +17 (29,911)

  • North Somerset: +14 (9,821)

  • South Gloucestershire : +14 (14,766)

Another 121 people have died within 28 days of testing positive, meaning the death toll now stands at 125,464.

Deaths newly reported each day cover the 24 hours up to 5pm on the previous day.

Figures only include people who died within 28 days of testing positive for COVID-19.

More than 23,600,000 people have now had their first dose of the covid vaccine nationally, and 1,532,754 have had both doses, as of Friday, March 12.
