A new heat map estimates how many active coronavirus cases there are in Bristol today (Wednesday, July 15).
NHS England releases daily statistics to show the total number of infected people since the pandemic started.
But data from the COVID Symptom Study, an app which tracks people with coronavirus symptoms across the country, is the first to indicate the estimated number of patients who currently have the virus on any given day.
It estimates 26,021 Brits are currently infected by the virus, as of this morning.
That is up from 23,042 just six days ago, with scientists at King's College London, who helped create the study, warning that cases are beginning to rise once more.
According to the research, Bristol currently has 324 active Covid-19 cases - a rate of 699 per 1,000,000 people.
Meanwhile, North Somerset had the lowest number of cases with 92 - a rate of 430 per 1,000,000 people.

Bristol - 324 (699 per million)
North Somerset - 92 (430 per million)
South Gloucestershire - 151 (535 per million)
Bath and North East Somerset - 97 (506 per million)
How is the data calculated?
As the Mirror reports , the latest numbers in the COVID Symptom Study app are based on data provided by 3.7 million people across the UK who are using it to regularly report on their health.
The study also uses data from swab tests carried out.
