Coronavirus good news: Easter Bunny deemed essential worker by Minister for Health Simon Harris

Children across Ireland can breath a sigh of relief today as the Government has confirmed that the Easter Bunny is deemed an essential worker.

Kids had been in a flurry in the lead up to Easter weekend, worried that his annual delivery of eggs could be cancelled due to health guidelines.

The public are being asked to stay at home and only go outside if necessary - with many people working from home.

The Easter Bunny faced a mammoth task with delivering eggs around Ireland, but the public has been assured that he can carry out his work - as long as he follows a few rules.

Minister for Health Simon Harris took to Twitter to assure the children of Ireland that all will be well once the Easter Bunny regularly washes his hands and sticks to social distancing guidelines.

He said: "Important news for children: Many of you contacted me & asked me to if the Easter Bunny was allowed work this weekend. I have checked with our top doctors & the good news is he can. But he has been contacted to remind him about washing his hands regularly & keeping his distance."

Bring on the Easter eggs!
