Coronavirus good news: Cavan nan celebrates 100th birthday by singing 'Grace' to family through second floor window

An Irish grandmother celebrated her 100th birthday by serenading her family with the song 'Grace' through her second floor window.

Despite the ongoing coronavirus global health crisis, people across Ireland have been coming up with creative ways to visit family while keeping their distance.

And Annie Brady from Tullac Mongan, Co Cavan, and her family made sure she was not alone to celebrate her 100 year milestone birthday.

Annie's family gathered outside her home and sang 'Happy Birthday' to the community woman before the nan gave the crowd a song back.

The Cavan woman's favourite song is the age old classic 'Grace' and as the family began to sing it to her she took it upon herself to serenade them back with a verse.

The grandmother gave an emotional rendition of the song from her second floor window, with her family listening in silence below.

The video has already been viewed thousands of times on social media.

Posting on her Facebook page, Annie's granddaughter said: "Celebrating our granny's 100th birthday from outside her house.

"Still had the champagne and cake."
