Coronavirus: Gardai investigate as horrible man coughs in face of couple, 80s, wearing masks while out walking during COVID-19 outbreak

A horrible lowlife repeatedly coughed in the face of an elderly couple who were wearing masks while out walking in Kildare.

The incident happened at Sallins Road at around 2pm on Thursday following various reports on social media.

The couple, who are in their 80s, were wearing medical protective equipment to cover their mouths when they were approached by a man who began to splutter his filthy germs in their face before running away.

The rotten individual is described as being over 6ft tall in height and was wearing all green coloured clothes at the time of the incident.

Both pensioners were understandably shook following the assault which was reported to the gardai immediately.

A family member, who wished to remain anonymous, said that the incident was not a laughing matter.

They said: "This is no way for anyone to behave in this crisis.

"It's not funny, it is assault and has been reported to the Gardai. If anyone has dashcam footage, please hand it in to the Gardai.

Investigating Gardai in Naas said that they are "very concerned" about the attack and also appealed for the public's help and asked to hear from anyone with dashcam footage from the Sallins Road area at that time.
