Coronavirus: Frightened mum with COVID-19 issues warning crying 'it isn't normal flu'

A mum with coronavirus tearfully urges people to “stop being selfish” and to “stay at home” in an emotional clip.

Marcela Diaz Young filmed her five-minute plea for people to help keep others safe and prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The plea comes after Gardai were forced to close public carparks at tourist hotspot Glendalough following complaints about people not taking social distancing seriously on Sunday.

Shocking photos showed throngs queuing at busy coffee stalls and other pop-up shops during the warm weather over the weekend.

Fighting back the tears, the mum says: “I want to say to everyone please, stay at home. Please, please, respect the quarantine.

"This is very, very serious. People with a lot of health problems can die so don’t be selfish. Think about the people at risk.”

Marcela, believed to be from London, coughs and strains as she completes her plea. She details her grim symptoms.

“I had a really, really bad week last week. I still struggle to breathe,” she adds.

“Everyone says ‘you won’t die Marcela’. I won’t die, I know that, but we are infecting people with the risk they’ll die.

“Last week for me, was such a horrible week. It is the most horrible thing that can happen to you. You cannot breathe properly.

“I am scared, very scared. My body is fighting."

She added: "I thought this wouldn't happen to me. I thought it would be normal flu - this isn't normal flu."
