One Paisley dad, who visited Asda in the Phoenix Retail Park, said: “The shops are crazy at the minute.

“I was expecting the usual toilet roll and pasta aisles to be empty but I couldn’t believe there was no chicken or beef either.

“People are just grabbing everything they can in a panic.”
