Formula One teams will supply ventilators to help during the coronavirus crisis.
The government and health authorities are in talks with F1 as the covid-19 pandemic escalates throughout the world.
Ventilators are especially useful right now, with the machines able to supply more air to patients experiencing breathing difficulties – one of the severe symptoms of the coronavirus.
And now the majority of F1 teams are to offer their engineering facilities to increase production.
F1 vowed to “provide as much help and assistance as we can”, with the current season suspended until at least 7 June for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
A spokesman said: “The F1 community is engaged in discussions with all the relevant stakeholders regarding this issue and we will provide further details in due course.”
F1 has been hit hard by the coronavirus, with governing body announcing the cancellation of three more races due to the pandemic.
After the Australian Grand Prix, F1 quickly cancelled the Bahrain, Vietnamese and Chinese races.
And now the Dutch and Spanish Grand Prix have been postponed, while the iconic Monaco Grands Prix has been outright cancelled and will not be rescheduled for later in the season.
