Coronavirus: FBI launches fitness app so you can 'train like an agent' during lockdown

Last night, the UK officially went into lockdown over the coronavirus outbreak, leaving millions of Brits confined to the four corners of their homes.

From home workouts to baking, many self-isolators have taken on a range of hobbies to keep themselves entertained during the lockdown.

Now, the FBI has launched a fitness app so you can ‘train like an agent’ during self-isolation.

The FBI explained: “The FBI’s Physical Fitness Test app is an informative and interactive way to train like an agent.

“Whether you’re an aspiring agent hoping to see if you have what it takes or a fitness enthusiast curious about agent training, this mobile application will help you learn the benchmarks of the official FBI Physical Fitness Test (PFT).”

The app features several videos that demonstrate the proper form and procedures for each of the five components of the fitness test - sit-ups, a 300-metre sprint, push-ups, a 1.5 mile run and pull-ups.

Once you’ve mastered each component, you can then try the full PFT for yourself.

Unsurprisingly, many users are concerned that the app could be used to spy on you.

Replying to the FBI’s tweet about it, one user wrote: “100% they will use this app to spy on you."

Another added: “most apps are probably spying on you, but no app has ever been as definitely spying on you as this one.”

Meanwhile, one joked: “Honestly, I needed a laugh. Thank you, FBI, for your terrible ideas.”

If that's not put you off, you can download the FBI app here.
