Dublin Airport has assured the public they are prepared as the coronavirus spreads to Europe.
With over 220 people infected in Italy, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control now rates the risk of the occurrence of similar clusters of cases in other EU countries as moderate to high.
The virus has already claimed six lives in the southern European country.
Dublin Airport officials have been in regular contact with public health officials since the outbreak of COVID-19.
A daa spokeswoman told Dublin Live: "The Department of Public Health is the expert and lead agency in relation to public advice on COVID19.
"We are in regular contact with officials there and it will issue public health guidance as required and we will liaise with them and follow any and all guidelines.
"We have a notice on latest news on our website... and our digital pods throughout both terminals are displaying HSE public advice information.
"It’s important to note that Dublin Airport has no direct flights to China."
Italy has seen a rapid increase in case of the disease since the weekend.
Large parts of the country are now in quarantine as officials try to contain the outbreak.
A team of experts from WHO and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) arrived in the country on Monday to support Italian authorities.
WHO experts are providing support in the areas of clinical management, infection prevention and control, surveillance and risk communication.
At this stage the focus is on limiting further human-to-human transmission
Dr Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe, said: “COVID-19 is a new virus that we need to take very seriously.
"This mission to Italy is one of the ways in which WHO/Europe is supporting countries across the region.
"We are working hard with our member states to ensure that they are ready for COVID-19, preparing for the arrival of cases and possible localized spread.
"It is vital that we treat patients with dignity and compassion, put measures in place to prevent onward transmission, and protect health workers,”
