Coronavirus: Dua Lipa sobs as co-writer of her new single battles Covid-19

Dua Lipa sobbed as she shared news about her new music with her fans during an Instagram live on Monday.

The singer, 24, was overcome with emotion as she announced that her single Break My Heart would be released on Friday and explained that she decided to take to social media as she wanted to send love to her one of her co-writers on the song Andrew Watt - who has been diagnosed with coronavirus.

Last week, 29-year-old Andrew - who is has produced music for Ozzy Osbourne and Cardi B - shared on Instagram that he had tested positive for Covid-19 and has been recovering from the deadly bug.

As Dua addressed the camera she urged her fans to "look after one another" and not to be "small minded".

Choking up, she began: "I am really happy that it is coming out, I am really excited for you all to hear it and you know make of it what you will.

"I hope it brings you some happiness and I hope it makes you smile and I hope it makes you dance.

"I hope I make you proud."

Looking down, as she wiped her tears, she explained: "I wrote some notes down for what I wanted to say during this live stream."

Dua continued: "For those of you who are just joining the live stream now, the album is coming out this Friday!

"So, Break My Heart, which is my next single, its a song that I made in LA with Andrew Watt, Ali Tamposi and Jordan and Steph from Monsters and Strangers.

"I really want to send well wishes send lots of love to Andrew Watt in particular as he has been effected by the virus.

"And if you get a chance, go on his social media and read on how scary this all is.

"For some people you may think you are young and you won’t be effected by the virus.

"I know a lot of young people who do have it and have struggled with it and you know I don’t think we should be so small minded, it really does effect you and we all really need to look after each other.

"I just want to send love to Andrew Watt during this time - who is recovering from it now.

She added: "But yeah Break My Heart I am excited."

Andrew last posted on social media on six days ago when he shared on his diagnosis.

The talented musician, who is Rita Ora's ex-boyfriend, said he made the announcement with the intention of spreading awareness of the symptoms which many people have appeared to have overlooked.
