Coronavirus deaths reach 299 in Northern Ireland

Another five patients who tested positive for coronavirus at Northern Ireland hospitals have died.

The latest figures bring the total lost to in the region to 299.

The Department of Health, which has taken over briefings from the Public Health Agency, said they have also tested an additional 686 patients, with a total of 82 new positive results.

19,352 people have now been tested for the virus in the region.

A further 190 tests were carried out at the SSE, City of Derry Rugby Club and Craigavon MOT centre.
