Coronavirus deaths in Scotland rise to six with confirmed cases now at 266

Six people have now died as a result of the coronavirus outbreak in Scotland.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced this morning that three additional deaths to report in the last day. The total number of Scottish cases as risen to 266 – an increase of 39 from this time yesterday.

It was announced yesterday that all Scottish schools would close from Friday, with a good chance they may not reopen before the summer break as the country continues to battle the Covid-19 outbreak.

A further update on the number of cases in the Edinburgh and Lothians are is expected this afternoon.
