Coronavirus: David Walliams releases free audio stories for self-isolating children

David Walliams is releasing 30 free audio stories for children who are self-isolating during the coronavirus pandemic.

The former Little Britain star wrote on his Twitter page that: "Those stuck at home with their kids may be able to relate to The World's Worst Children. I'll be releasing an audio story every day for the next 30 days for free."

The stories will be taken from his book series The World's Worst Children, which focuses on the exploits of particularly dastardly kids.

As well as being a judge on popular ITV reality show Britain's Got Talent, Walliams is also a best-selling children's author.

The free audio recordings can be downloaded from Walliam's website.

He is far from the only celebrity to try and lend a hand in helping people through the period of self-isolation and social distancing.

Veteran Star Trek actor Sir Patrick Stewart is reading out passages of Shakespeare on Twitter every day, insisting that "a sonnet a day keeps the doctor away."

Some musicians, including Chris Martin and John Legend, are also hosting live-streamed concerts to help keep people entertained.
