Coronavirus contact tracing being undertaken at primary school in Bearsden

Contact tracing is being undertaken at another school in the Greater Glasgow healthboard area.

A coronavirus case has been confirmed at Killermont Primary School in Bearsden.

However, there is no evidence of transmission within the school itself.

A list of close contacts have been identified and they are being advised to self-isolate and are being given appropriate health advice and support.

Public health, education departments and council environmental health teams are working together to support the school and families affected.

Apart from those who are identified as close contacts, all other pupils and staff can continue to attend as normal.

Members of the public are being asked to remain vigilant and minimise the risk of coronavirus by maintaining social distancing, regular hand washing, and being on the look-out for symptoms.

A spokesperson for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "There is no need for anyone to seek a test if they are not experiencing any symptoms but anyone with one or more of the symptoms should immediately self-isolate and order a test on the NHS inform website  www.nhsinform.scot  or by calling 0800 028 2816."
