In a week that was supposed to be full of hope and good news of reopenings and customers reunited with their favourite places, yet another Dublin business has had to shut its doors for good following the coronavirus pandemic.
What one local described as the best "effing little cafe in Dublin" Nina's Cafe in Finglas announced that it was putting down the shutters forever.
Known for its lovely coffee and delicious takeaway cakes, the decorated store in the village stood out beautifully with its big outdoor space.
Owners Nina and Marko revealed the news on their Facebook page saying: "It is with a heavy heart that we announce Nina’s Cafe is now closed for good."
They added: "We would like to thank all of our wonderful staff and customers for making the place so special. We will cherish all the great memories forever."
One loyal customer explained why Nina's was, as they put it, the best f****** little cafe in the capital.
They said: "It was our 'go to' spot for brekkie, coffee and carrot cake. Your lovely smiles were so welcoming and you made such a difference to Finglas. The village has lost a little treasure. Wishing you all the best in the future."
Another added: "Ah I'm so sorry to hear this. This was the best cafe in Finglas village. So friendly and the food was so good. You will be dearly missed. I wish you all the best in the future and hope you will recover from all this. So sorry."
A third said: "It’s such a shame as it was a fantastic coffee shop. Great food, great staff and a great place to catch up with friends. I will miss you all. Good luck with your future ventures."
