Coronavirus causes TV chaos as Holby City is cancelled and EastEnders is moved

The ongoing coronavirus crisis has now had a huge effect on the TV schedules.

Last night's Holby City was cancelled and EastEnders aired at a later time to make room for a special extended news broadcast about the outbreak, which aired at 6pm.

The news was confirmed in a tweet posted by the official Holby City Twitter account yesterday, reading: "News just in. We're postponing tonight's #HolbyCity episode due to an extended 6pm news bulletin. Sending hugs."

BBC News aired at its regular time slot of 6pm but ran for the slightly longer time of 45 minutes on Tuesday evening.

Then The One Show ran for a slightly shorter time of 45 minutes until 8pm.

EastEnders then aired at the later time of 8pm, instead of its usual 7:30pm slot on a Tuesday.
