Coronavirus cases rise by 683 across Bristol region in the last 24 hours

There have been another 683 coronavirus cases discovered in the Bristol region, latest figures show.

According to Public Health England there have been another 337 positive coronavirus cases in the City of Bristol alone.

This means there have now been 34,899 coronavirus cases discovered across the city since the start of the global pandemic in March last year.

The second-highest one-day increase came in South Gloucestershire where there have been another 149 positive tests, meaning a total of 16,800.

Meanwhile there were another 103 positive test results in North Somerset and 94 in Bath and North East Somerset.

Across the United Kingdom there were another 27,125 lab-tested cases identified as of 9am today.

This brings the total number of coronavirus cases across the UK to 4,855,169.

Figures also show another 27 people died within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test, bringing the nationwide death toll to 128,189.

There were no new deaths in the Bristol region.

  • Bristol: 34,899 (+337)
  • Bath and North East Somerset: 9,242 (+94)
  • North Somerset: 11,087 (+103)
  • South Gloucestershire: 16,800 (+149)

The number of deaths within 28 days of a positive test result in each area since the pandemic began is recorded below, with new deaths, and deaths removed from the total following revisions to past data, in brackets.

  • Bristol: 483 (-)
  • Bath and North East Somerset: 217 (-)
  • North Somerset: 318 (-)
  • South Gloucestershire: 347 (-)
