Small increase in number of coronavirus cases in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

The number of coronavirus cases has risen in both Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, according to figures released by Public Health England today (June 13).

Across the UK, 41,662 people have passed away after testing positive for Covid-19 and there are now 294,375 lab-confirmed patients.

This represents an increase of 181 and 1,425 respectively over 24 hours.

In Nottingham, there are now 620 confirmed coronavirus cases - a rise of one over the same time period.

There have been three further cases recorded in Nottinghamshire, where the total now stands at 1,461.

The full breakdown of cases is as follows:

Gedling - 225 (one new case)

Rushcliffe - 198 (no change)

Mansfield - 133 (no change)

Newark and Sherwood - 170 (no change)

Ashfield - 246 (one new case)

Broxtowe - 240 (no change)

Bassetlaw - 249 (one new case)

This weekend, Grandparents who live alone have been reunited with their families as they began forming "support bubbles" with one other household.

The latest easing of the social distancing rules in England has been keenly anticipated, with many people being able to end weeks of isolation under lockdown.

Couples who do not live together and had been required to remain two metres apart if they met outdoors will again be able to stay overnight at each other's homes.
