The number of coronavirus COVID-19 cases in the UK has jumped by 34 in a day, taking the total number of cases to 85.

The Department of Health and Social Care confirmed the sharp increase this afternoon (March 4).
Chief Medical Officer Professor Chris Whitty said: "As of 9am this morning, 32 further patients in England have tested positive for COVID-19.
"29 had recently travelled from recognised countries or from recognised clusters which were under investigation.

"Three additional patients contracted the virus in the UK and it is not yet clear whether contracted it directly or indirectly from an individual who had recently returned from abroad."
The Department of Health and Social Care said this is being investigated and contact tracing has begun.
To date, more than 16,000 people have been tested for the virus across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
On Tuesday, the UK Government announced its action plan for tackling the virus in the coming weeks.
The Prime Minister said officials are "ready to take necessary steps" to contain the virus and protect those that are vulnerable.
They fear that in a worst-case scenario, as many as 80% of the entire UK population could be affected and 5% of the workforce off sick at any one time.
Wales' Chief Medical Officer Dr Frank Atherton said it's expectied that cases in Wales will begin to escalate in April with a tapering off around July or August.
He said Wales and the rest of the UK has “a window of opportunity for calm preparation”.
