Coronavirus cases in the Premier League have dropped for the second week in a row.
In the week leading up to and including Saturday, January 9, 72 positive tests for Covid were confirmed in England's top flight.
This is down from the 94 positive tests that were reported the week before.
Last week was the first time for eight weeks that Covid cases had dropped in the Premier League as the Omicron variant of the virus began to spread across the country, causing fixture postponements.
Manchester United's fixtures against Brighton and Brentford were both postponed last month due to Coronavirus while City have been left with manager Pep Guardiola and several first team players and staff absent after testing positive.
Everton's Premier League fixture against Leicester City, which was scheduled to be played on Tuesday, January 11 has been postponed because the Foxes do not have enough fit players to fulfil the fixture.
This has been blamed on Covid-19 as well as injuries.
