Cases of coronavirus in Liverpool have risen to 57 over the last 24 hours as numbers in other boroughs continue to creep up.
The news comes as the UK death toll soared by 41 since Tuesday and positive cases across the country also increased.
Across the other boroughs Wirral saw its own positive cases increase to 16.
In St Helens, there are also 16 people who have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
In Knowsley there were nine, 20 in Sefton and a further eight cases in Halton.
On Wednesday evening, the Department of Health issued the latest numbers for those who have sadly lost their lives after testing positive for COVID-19.
Wednesday's rise takes the total number of people who have died after testing positive from the virus in the UK to 465, up from 424 on Tuesday 24 March.
That includes 414 deaths in England, 22 deaths in Scotland, 22 deaths in Wales, and seven deaths in Northern Ireland.
The deaths involved people aged between 18 and 93 years old, including a 21-year-old with no pre-existing health conditions.
Of the deaths in England announced today, all but one - a 47 year old - had pre-existing health conditions.
On Wednesday, there were 1,542 confirmed UK coronavirus cases, out of a total of 9,529.
Yesterday sadly saw the first Liverpool death recorded.
It is thought that this refers to the sad death of Liverpool singer Cy Tucker, who passed away on Tuesday morning.
The grandad, 76, “who touched many lives through music” died in the early hours of Tuesday at the Royal Liverpool Hospital after falling ill with symptoms one week ago.
