Coronavirus Cases in Iraq Near Two Million

Iraq’s Ministry of Health and Environment said on Saturday that 33 new coronavirus-related deaths were confirmed in the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 22,072.

The ministry confirmed 1,312 new infections, taking the total to 1,199,628. It added that 5,310 people recovered from the disease, raising the tally to 1,892,413.

Hospitals in the past 24 hours carried out 16,547 laboratory tests to detect coronavirus infections.

The health ministry also noted that 4,623,339 people have so far received the COVID-19 vaccine.
