Coronavirus cases and deaths rise in Bristol - latest figures

Three people have tested positive for coronavirus Covid-19 in Bristol in the past 24 hours, the latest figures show.

It brings the total number of cases to 725.

There had been no positive tests in Bristol for five days running this week until today (June 26).

In Bristol, there have been two more people who have died from coronavirus this week.

One person passed away at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, bringing the total number of people who have died at the University Hospitals Trust Bristol and Weston Trust to 145.

And one person passed way at Southmead Hospital, bringing the total number who have died at that hospital trust to 119.

Nationally, the Department of Health has announced a total of 186 people’s deaths from coronavirus have been added to the total in the past 24 hours.

Those deaths occurred in previous days, but have been registered and recorded in the 24 hours to 4pm on Friday June 26.

It brings the total number of people who have died from coronavirus to 43,414 in the United Kingdom.

There were also 1,006 new positive cases in the UK recorded in the past 24 hours.
